What is Tillify?

Do I need an EFTPOS machine to take payments?

No. Tillify works entirely through your device and QR codes. Your customer scans the code with their phone to pay by bank transfer or card — no EFTPOS machine or hardware required.

How do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

When a customer pays you, the money is transferred directly to your bank account. For Pay by Bank transactions this usually happens within a few hours. For credit/debit card payments it typically takes 2-3 business days.

What payment methods can customers use?

Accepted Answer

Customers can pay by Pay by Bank (a direct, secure bank transfer) or by credit/debit card, including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

How much does Tillify cost?

Accepted Answer

There are no monthly fees and no hardware costs — you only pay when you make a sale. Sales under $6.25 are charged 5% (minimum $0.10). Sales of $6.25 and above are charged 1% + $0.25 per transaction, capped at $2.50. Card payments also incur standard Stripe processing fees.

What bank accounts can I use to receive payments?

Most New Zealand bank accounts, including ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Kiwibank, Westpac, TSB Bank, the Co-operative Bank, SBS Bank and Heartland Bank.

Yes. Tillify never sees or stores your internet banking credentials. We use New Zealand open banking platforms for bank connections and Stripe for card processing.
