Common questions
Do I need an EFTPOS machine?
No. Tillify works through your phone and QR codes. Your customer scans the code with their phone to pay.
How much does it cost?
There are no monthly fees, so you only pay when you make a sale. Sales under $6.25 cost 5% (minimum 10c). Larger sales cost 1% + 25c, capped at $2.50. Card payments also incur Stripe's processing fees.
How do I get paid?
The money is transferred directly to your bank account. For Pay by Bank this usually happens within a few hours. For card payments it typically takes 2-3 business days.
Which banks can my customers pay from?
Pay by Bank works for customers with ASB, ANZ, Westpac, BNZ or Kiwibank.
Can I set fixed prices?
Yes. You can create QR codes for fixed-price items, such as honey for $12, or leave the amount open for the customer to enter, as you would for an honesty box.
Do QR codes expire?
No. Your QR codes are permanent links to your payment page. You can generate one-time-use codes if you need them.
